Getting started
What is TrueRoyalties?
TrueRoyalties automatically calculates the real net profit of your Amazon KDP books by combining your KDP royalties with your Amazon Ads spend in one continuous view — so you always know what you actually keep, not just what you earn.
What problem does it solve?
KDP shows your royalties and Amazon Ads shows your spend, but neither shows your actual profit. Many authors believe they are making money while ad spend quietly eats their margin. TrueRoyalties unifies both sides into one number you can trust.
Who is it for?
Self-published authors and KDP publishers who run Amazon Ads and want to know their true profitability — book by book and overall — instead of flying blind across separate dashboards.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. You get a 14-day free trial with full access, no credit card required, and you can cancel anytime.
How long does it take to set up?
Create your account, connect your KDP royalty data and your Amazon Ads account, and your net-profit view starts filling in. There is nothing to install and no spreadsheets to maintain.
Connecting your data
What do I need to connect?
Two things: your Amazon KDP royalty data and your Amazon Ads account. TrueRoyalties reads both continuously and keeps your profit view up to date as new data arrives.
Is my data accessed read-only?
Yes. TrueRoyalties only reads your royalty and advertising data to compute your profit. It never changes your KDP catalog, your ad campaigns, or anything on your Amazon accounts.
Do I need to use the same email as my Amazon KDP account?
No. Your TrueRoyalties login is independent from your Amazon accounts — you can sign up with any email you like.
Can I track multiple books and pen names?
Yes. TrueRoyalties tracks your whole catalog and gives you both a per-book breakdown and a single consolidated view across every title.
Why is one KDP account tied to one TrueRoyalties account?
Each KDP account can be linked to a single TrueRoyalties account. This binding protects the integrity of your royalty data and prevents the same earnings from being claimed by two accounts.
Net profit & calculations
How is net profit calculated?
TrueRoyalties continuously computes Net Profit = Royalties − Ad Spend, per book and across your entire catalog, updating as new royalty and advertising data comes in.
Can I see profit per book?
Yes. You get net profit broken down per individual book, plus a global view that consolidates every book and every marketplace into one figure.
How current are the numbers?
Your profit view refreshes as new KDP royalty and Amazon Ads data becomes available, so you are looking at an up-to-date picture rather than a monthly snapshot you have to rebuild by hand.
Why do your numbers differ from the raw KDP or Ads dashboards?
TrueRoyalties reconciles both sides and applies real-world adjustments the raw dashboards ignore — advertising spend netted against royalties, taxes, and currency conversion — so the profit figure reflects what actually lands in your pocket.
Marketplaces, taxes & currencies
Which marketplaces are supported?
Profitability is tracked across every marketplace where you sell and advertise, including US, UK, DE, FR, ES, IT and JP, with a single global view layered on top.
Can I see everything in one currency?
Yes. Amounts from every marketplace are converted to your chosen currency, so your global profit is a single consistent number instead of a pile of mixed currencies.
Does it account for KDP withholding tax?
Yes. If Amazon withholds tax on your royalties, TrueRoyalties counts your royalties net of that withholding so your profit is not overstated.
What about VAT or GST on ad spend?
Ad spend is counted tax-inclusive per marketplace, so the advertising cost subtracted from your royalties reflects what you are truly billed — VAT/GST included.
Pricing & billing
How is my price decided?
You never pick a plan — your price follows your measured KDP royalties. Under $1,000/mo you're on Indie ($9), $1,000 to $10,000 on Author ($19), and above $10,000 on Bestseller ($39). The right tier is always set for you automatically.
Do you take a percentage of my royalties?
No. You pay a flat tier price ($9, $19 or $39) — never a cut of your earnings. Your royalties only decide which tier you land in.
What happens on the annual plan?
You pay for the full year upfront at your tier on the day you subscribe, and that price is locked for the whole 12 months regardless of how your royalties move. Your tier is only re-checked at renewal.
And on the monthly plan, if my royalties change?
Your tier adjusts every month from last month's royalties. Earn less and your price drops automatically next cycle; earn more and it moves up — but we always email you before any increase, and you can cancel anytime.
How are payments processed?
Payments are handled securely by Stripe. TrueRoyalties never sees or stores your card number — Stripe processes it and shares only what is needed to manage your subscription.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. You can cancel whenever you want and keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
Security & support
Is TrueRoyalties secure?
Your data is used only to compute your profit and is never sold. Access to your royalty and advertising data is read-only, and payment details are handled entirely by Stripe rather than stored by us.
How do I sign in?
Sign-in uses a one-time code sent to your email — there is no password to remember, lose, or leak.
Can I delete my account and data?
Yes. You can request deletion of your account at any time, and your associated data is removed.
